Our Story
Our journey begins in 2015 with our founder Laura’s obsession with op shop swimwear. When her vintage favourites inevitably started wearing out she took matters into her own hands, creating her first collection. A signature style soon emerged, and Snorkelbear was born.
Inspired by a fave Barbie costume, a treasured vintage shirt, your Mum's 90s wardrobe; every Snorkelbear piece is like a trip down memory lane.
Made by girls, for girls.
It’s giving main character energy, with a range of cuts consciously designed to flatter all body types. Inclusivity is at the heart of what we do, offering extended ready to wear sizing from XXS to 3XL and in-house customisation options to cover every Snorkelbear babe.
While greenwashing rubs us up worse than a Shein $1 bikini, sustainability is kinda important... all of the swimwear we produce contains either recycled yarns or repurposed fabrics – using what is already in existence rather than creating new, and eliminating plastic use everywhere we can.
We are particularly proud of our deadstock collection – all of these items are made in-house using genuine deadstock vintage fabrics produced from the 1970s to 2000s. This fabric is super limited and once we sell out of a style, usually it is gone forever, making each of these pieces extra special.
